All applications are reviewed to determine the most suitable candidates for current vacancies. If you are selected for an interview, you will receive a telephone call to schedule an interview. If you are not selected, you will be notified by e-mail. Depending on the number of applications, interviews may take place starting immediately after the closing date or, in some cases weeks after the closing date.

A screening team conducts all interviews. The team may range in size from two to eight members. All candidates are asked the same questions or are asked to participate in the same activities. Depending on the position, the initial screening may consist of multiple activities. When you are called for the interview, you will be told the nature and length of the screening process. Interviews may be held at the school where the vacancy exists or at the Central Office.

After the interview, the screening team decides which candidates will continue as finalists in the process. Candidates moving forward will be contacted with a telephone call, all others will receive an e-mail.

Individuals who are recommended for hire by the screening team will be contacted by Human Resources to begin the onboarding process. HR will provide guidance and support on all required onboarding tasks, including submitting documentation such as tax forms, direct deposit, background screening, emergency contact information, required online training and fingerprinting. 

Once all onboarding tasks are completed, you will be scheduled for New Employee Orientation, which i mandatory for all new hires. Orientations are held on Fridays at 8:30 AM.

In order to work or volunteer in the New London Public School System, all certified and non-certified staff members are required to submit fingerprints for a background check. Fingerprints are completed during the on-boarding process and are scheduled by Human Resources. All Fingerprinting must be completed prior to starting any school assignment. 

You must complete Pre-Registration prior to arriving at your appointment and you must bring the form with you.
