NLPS teachers and staff are encouraged to access the following resources for CSDE guidance, resources for Distance Learning, and mental health support during Extended School Closure.

****The Careline****

 If you suspect a child is the victim of abuse or neglect, call 1-800-842-2288. 

The Careline is open 24 hrs/7days a week and staffed by full-time, highly skilled professionals.

Mandated reporters are required to report or cause a report to be made when, in the ordinary course of their employment or profession, they have reasonable cause to suspect or believe that a child under the age of 18 has been abused, neglected or is placed in imminent risk of serious harm. (Connecticut General Statutes §17a-101a)

2-1-1 is your one-stop connection to the local services you need, from utility assistance, food, housing, child care, after school programs, elder care, crisis intervention and much more. 2-1-1 is always ready to assist you find the help you need. Dial 2-1-1 or search online. If you are outside Connecticut or have a problem using the 2-1-1 number, dial 1-800-203-1234.

  • Talk-It-Out: For parents and caregivers who need someone to listen, to understand, and to talk your feelings out. 833-258-5011
  • Employee Assistance Program: NLPS Employees and their family members can access the services offered. There is no cost to you or your family members for EAP sessions. The program and its services are strictly confidential. You are encouraged to reach out if you feel the need to connect with a professional who is skilled in helping others.
