NLHS Summer Reading 2022

  • The summer reading program is designed not only to maintain reading levels and skills during summer break but also to foster a love of reading and a thirst for knowledge. To that end, we encourage students to choose fiction and/or non- fiction titles that are of interest to them when a particular text is not assigned. Students may not, however, choose to read books that were part of the previous year’s curriculum.

All NLHSMMC students are required to complete the summer reading and writing assignments as outlined in this document.

    • All reading and note-taking should be completed prior to the start of the school year and should be brought on the first day of school.
    • During the first week(s) of school, students will complete a written assignment based on their summer reading text(s) in their English course(s). The grade earned on this assignment will count toward the first semester grade.
