Curriculum

  • Research confirms that “the implementation of a high-quality curriculum – one that is aligned to rigorous state standards – leads to notable learning gains for students (National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, 2020). New London Public Schools’ curriculum plan directly aligns with the district’s first Theory of Action: Student Achievement. A standards-based curriculum is at the core of ensuring all students receive rigorous, research-based instruction that is directly aligned with the Connecticut Core Standards. These standards provide clear expectations of what a student should know and be able to do at each grade level.

New London Public Schools has a universal curriculum design aligning standards, activities and resources at all grade levels and subject areas. We also use the following programs within the district:

    • Defined Learning
    • Envision 2020
    • Fundations
    • Into Math
    • Learning A-Z
    • Lexia
    • LLI
    • Mystery Science
    • Reading Plus
    • SeeSaw
