Every NLPS school integrates one of three magnet themes throughout its entire curriculum — offering experiences you won't find in any traditional school.
Science, Technology, Engineering & Math
The STEM Pathway uses inquiry-based instruction to prepare students to ask questions, conduct investigations, and communicate findings to the community around them. Students build a rigorous understanding of STEM while connecting learning across all disciplines through non-fiction literacy, integrated curriculum, and — beginning in 6th grade — engineering and science principles that grow into career pathways in biomedical sciences, chemistry, environmental studies, engineering, and math-related fields.
Learn about STEMVisual & Performing Arts
Unlike traditional districts, NLPS goes beyond music and art — offering dance, theatre, Pages Café (at Nathan Hale), and media arts such as graphic design and film production, in professional-grade facilities for all grade levels. Using the HOT Schools approach of strong arts, arts integration, and democratic practice, NLPS collaborates with regional arts partners to offer a challenging program responsive to every student.
Learn about ArtsGlobal Perspectives & World Languages
his pathway develops global thinkers and problem solvers. Students celebrate their own background and way of life and learn about cultures and languages of the world while developing communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through a social justice lens.
