Dear Room Seven Families,
I am pleased to have such bright, motivated learners in my class this year!
Each day a different classmate is our student leader. The student leader is in charge of many responsibilities. That person leads the morning meeting in math and sound card chants, delivers important papers to the office, stands at the front of the line, and passes out assignments as well as serving as a role model for behavior.
The Super Sevens are off to a great start with the new math program. Each day the entire second grade visits Room 7 where we host the computer animated portion of the lesson. Our students are wonderful active participants in this whole group experience, as well as excellent role models for behavior. Following the animated lesson, each class returns to its own room to complete the guided practice and the independent practice. Please ensure that your student completes each math homework assignment to practice the new skills being taught.
Literacy Workshops have started and students are producing outstanding work in reading and writing. Please read with your child each day. The best readers read at home as well as in class.
Our school specials are as follows:
Day A: Library, Day B: Music, Day C: Computer Lab, Day D: Physical Education, Day E: Art
I am so lucky to work with this group of amazing children. Please feel free to join us at anytime in class to see what your child is learning in second grade.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Fondly,
Mrs. Sherman-Watson
