Project Oceanology
Project Oceanology is a State Department of Education, Interdistrict Cooperative Grant, which provides Marine Science Education to combined Urban and Suburban classes. We are fortunate enough to be able to participate this year with Southwest Elementary School in Waterford. The Grant provides two in-school programs, a Seal Watch trip onboard the R/V Envirolab III. The fourth meeting, in April, will be at Bluff Point Coastal Reserve. All programs will occur between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm. In addition, a salt water aquarium will be set up in our classroom. As part of the program, supplies to maintain the aquarium and animals from Long Island Sound will be provided by Project Oceanology staff. This will give students the opportunity to study marine organisms within their own classrooms. The dates for the field trips are as follows:

Southwest Visit- February 9, 2009
